"Wedding couples, usually, have not had much practice dancing formally as one; therefore, it is especially important for me to help them accomplish as much as possible in a short period of time, without looking as if they took a quick course in dance." -Jeannette

Your First Dance as Husband & Wife

Not only is it important to get to your wedding on time, but to dance on time?
DANCE TO THE MUSIC
Worried about dancing "on time" to your WEDDING SONG?
All you need to know to dance to the music: There are SLOW beats, and there are QUICK beats, . . . a slow is equal to TWO beats of music, a quick is equal to ONE beat of music.
To dance there first must be music. This statement implies that it is esential to have an undertanding of music before one can dance. Nonsense! Most ballroom dancers and many teachers have very little knowledge of music. They automatically keep time to the music, but would find it difficult to explain how their movements are actually tied into the music of a particular song. For an easy understanding simply CLAP to music. When we clap to music we automatically clap on the TWO beat, known as the strong beat. You can think of it in this way: a conductor's downward motion of his arm or baton represents the weaker beat or downward beat of a measure as in ONE. The conductor's upward movement of his arm or baton represents the stronger or ACCENTUATED BEAT of a measure as in TWO.
Not to worry, Jeannette specializes in helping you feel at ease with the music to look your best on your wedding day.
A Private Studio of Dance can help you with a song of your choice for your FIRST WEDDING DANCE.
We can also make suggestions if you are uncertain as to what kind of song you might like. Help is available for the parents, father/daughter, mother/son, the entire bridal party.
